Info: Thomas DiLorenzo teaches economics at Loyola College in Baltimore. As a Civil War buff, he decided to combine his two interests by looking at Abraham Lincoln from an economics point of view. The result has been two books over the last six years. The first was "The Real Lincoln." The more recent title is "Lincoln Unmasked." DiLorenzo not only criticizes Lincoln's handling of the war, he also criticizes current day historians who, he says, belong to the "church of Lincoln." Those include James McPherson, Harold Holzer, Harry Jaffa, Eric Foner, and Doris Kearns Goodwin. DiLorenzo also contends that academic historians critical of Lincoln have difficulties getting university level jobs.
