Info: We meet Neera Tanden, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Center for American Progress. Tanden details the mission and current goals of the Washington, D.C. based think tank. She states that the Center was founded in 2003 because there was no single progressive organization that focused on economic policy, domestic policy, and national security. She describes how her organization puts forward views through policy analysis. She reveals that for 2012, the Center will be working on a progressive tax reform policy. Tanden talks about sources of funding for the Center for American Progress and states that no one individual or corporation contributes more than ten percent of her group’s annual budget of $40 million dollars with approximately 250 employees. We learn of Tanden’s life growing up in Bedford, Massachusetts and her brief early support of President Ronald Reagan. She discusses working on and off for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for almost ten years, along with her college experiences at the University of California Los Angeles and Yale University.
