Info: Our guest is Bloomberg News White House Correspondent Julianna Goldman. She discusses her career reporting on President Obama from the beginning of his candidacy in 2007 until the present day. Goldman talks about her role in preparing for presidential news conferences, and she recounts her experiences travelling with the White House press corps on Air Force One. She says her approach as a reporter covering the White House is to simply obtain information and not try to trick the President by asking what she terms “gotcha” questions. She describes her methods for gathering information, and explains her use of Twitter in her daily coverage of events. Goldman explains the variety of media platforms she reports for in her work which include Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Businessweek, and Bloomberg.com. She talks about her decision to pursue journalism, and cites Diane Sawyer, Charlie Rose, and Al Hunt as early or continuing influences in her career.
